Artist Self-Publishes Calendar
Already, more than sixty-five calendars have been pre-ordered by customers. Its popularity among fans of Schaeffer’s work is due not only to the artist’s award-winning artwork, but also the calendar’s quality design, versatile size, and price. Named “Best New Artist” in 2006 by the Sussex County Arts & Heritage Council, Schaeffer is an emerging artist who exhibits in the NYC metro area, with work located in a growing number of private collections including Mountain Creek, Vernon, NJ. Her work has earned several awards, notably from Syracuse University, the Somerset Art Association, and the Sussex County Arts & Heritage Council. She was critically lauded by the Village Voice and published in the New York Times. Schaeffer is known for her paintings of appliances and cakes symbolizing domestic dilemmas, paintings representing Italy and her functional hand-painted tiles inspired by Italy and the gourmet.
