(
PRLEAP.COM) Duluth, GA - August 22, 2008 – Recent Greater Atlantic Christian grad Michael Phelps was featured in the Gwinett Daily Post for his fast paced career on the race track. The daily newspaper delivers local information on news, business, sports, lifestyle, health, home and garden, and travel.
In the article titled "GAC grad Phelps making his way up racing ranks," Phelps explains how he balanced college life and his fast paced hobby in racing. Throughout his junior and senior year, he played football on Friday nights and raced short tracks across the Southeast on Saturday nights.
"With a passion for racing thrumming in his blood, Phelps could have opted to throw himself into making it a career once he graduated," wrote staff writer Christine Trovke. "But instead the 19-year-old Suwanee resident decided to keep dividing his time and enrolled at Auburn."
Phelps is studying engineering and is currently trying to decide on which industry he wants to pursue as a career. The next races on his agenda will be ARCA, Hooters Pro Cup, NASCAR’s Craftsman Truck Series and the Nationwide Series.
